About the Faculty of Continuing Education & Extension
The Faculty of Continuing Education at Mount Royal University invites applications for a credit-free contract instructor.
Mount Royal University has provided continuing education to the Calgary community and beyond for more than 60 years. We offer more than 1,000 courses and 100 certificate and diploma programs, and have more than 50,000 course registrations each year. Our courses cover a wide range of sectors, including but not limited to social services, business, and health. These courses are offered in a variety of formats on campus, online, in the workplace, and in the community.
About the Role
The Personal Fitness Trainer diploma program offers a comprehensive health science education with an emphasis on special populations. The curriculum consists of academic and technical courses and was designed to meet the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology - Certified Personal Trainer national certification. Course Description
This course provides an introduction and overview of holistic health and wellness aspects and highlights strategies for promoting well-being. Utilizing a mix of theory and application, students will gain an understanding of individual well-being and the interconnectivity between individual well-being and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Upon completion of this course, the student will:
Responsibilities
The instructor is responsible for instruction using the approved curriculum, implementation of applicable curriculum assessment measures, and marking and submitting final course grades. The instructor must also maintain regular contact with the administration team and adhere to program policies and deadlines. Students in this class are part of the Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma Program.
