Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Coordinator of Student Clubs and Organizations and Greek Life within the Office of Student Engagement provides leadership for Belmont student life, maximizing engagement and success by providing opportunities for students to find belonging through common purpose, activities, organizations, and events. The Coordinator of Student Clubs and Organizations assists the Assistant Director of Student Clubs and Organizations within the Office of Student Engagement by: providing support for all 160+ student clubs and organizations activities; assisting in student leader and advisor trainings; providing event support for student clubs and organizations; providing administrative and BruinLink support for the Office of Student Engagement; providing oversight of Belmont's sorority and fraternity organizations – including recruitment and traditional events.

GREEK LIFE

  • Provide leadership and administrative support for the following areas: student clubs and organizations, Fraternity and Sorority Life
  • Help support and manage the Fraternity & Sorority recruitment process and general operations of Fraternity & Sorority Life.
  • Advise Panhellenic Council, four National Panhellenic Conference member organizations, one National Interfraternity
  • Council member organization, and three National Pan-Hellenic Council member organizations including management of spending, budget preparation and monitoring, and updating web and social media presence.
  • Maintain fraternity and sorority membership and academics, disciplinary records and governing council records.
  • Review and render decisions for all promotional, fundraising and solicitation requests for fraternities and sororities.
  • Provide individual and group leadership development for all fraternities and sororities including risk management education, community educational programming, and standards and values congruence.
  • Partner with Divisional Leaders to train Belmont fraternity and sorority advisors and maintain communication throughout the academic year.
  • Maintain relationships with fraternity and sorority chapter advisors, advisory boards, and (inter)National Headquarters.

  • STUDENT CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

  • Provide support for the Assistant Director of Student Engagement for Student Clubs and Organizations as needed.
  • Provide administrative support for managing Student Clubs & Organizational activity – including travel waivers, risk management forms, space requests, etc.
  • Be available for student meetings related to student clubs and organizations.
  • Help lead Belmont Student Organization advisor and student leader trainings.
  • Provide support and training to assist student organizations on finance processes.
  • STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

  • Supervise Student Engagement student staff.
  • Provide assistance in managing BruinLink (Campus Labs).
  • Be (or become) an expert in Campus Labs, the online reporting and campus communication software.
  • Represent Division of Student Life on various University committees.
  • Assist the Office of Student Engagement with office sponsored events and trainings.

  • Familiarity with pertinent legal issues and ability to recognize and manage risk effectively.

  • Required Education Undergraduate Degree Required with a willingness to pursue a master's degree. Master's Degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling, Leadership or related discipline is Preferred.

    Required Experience One to two years in Student Life, Residence Life, Greek Life, student organizations, student government, event planning, or related field is preferred. Preference will be given to the following candidates with the following experience: • Greek Life, Clubs and Organizations, Student Government, or Event Planning • Demonstrated professional work experience working with governing councils of Greek system, specific knowledge of NPC, NPHC and IFC guidelines, preferred. • Demonstrated professional work experience advising or leading high-level student organizations, preferred.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak and hear sufficiently to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes. The employee's vision must be adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. The position requires good manual dexterity. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing as necessary.
