Your Role:
As the Controls Engineer - Robotics , you'll be working with some of the
industry's brightest minds to:
Design, develop, and implement control systems for Fanuc robotic equipment
in the body shop area of our automotive manufacturing facility.
Program, troubleshoot, and modify robotic systems to optimize their
performance and ensure high-quality production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers,
electrical engineers, and production personnel, to maintain and optimize
robotic systems into the manufacturing process.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including control
specifications, programming guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures.
Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and upgrades of robotic systems
to ensure their reliability and safety.
Provide training and support to production operators and maintenance
personnel on the operation and maintenance of robotic systems.
Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers for the procurement of
robotic equipment and spare parts.
Adhere to safety regulations and ensure compliance with industry standards
during all phases of robot system integration and operation.
Basically, you'll ensure that the Body department meets its goals, achieving
both high customer and high employee satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Strong experience in designing, programming, and troubleshooting Fanuc
robotic systems in an automotive manufacturing environment, particularly
in the body shop area.
Proficiency in programming languages such as FANUC KAREL, TP, or similar
robotic programming languages.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings,
schematics, and specifications.
Strong familiarity with principles of automotive body processes,
optimization, launch of new products
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying
and resolving technical issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively
with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple
projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and
quality management systems.
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours and travel occasionally
to support project requirements.
Excellent communication skills and team-working tendencies
A genuine fascination for the automotive body field and a commitment to
global change
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of PLC programming, HMI design, and industrial communication
protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet).
Familiarity with robotic vision systems, 3D simulation software, and
offline programming tools.
A diverse skillset including ability to work under pressure, conflict
management, multitasking, prioritizing.
Annual Salary Range:
($100K - $125K), plus benefits and incentive plans
