Your Role:

As the Controls Engineer - Robotics , you'll be working with some of the industry's brightest minds to:

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for Fanuc robotic equipment in the body shop area of our automotive manufacturing facility.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and modify robotic systems to optimize their performance and ensure high-quality production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and production personnel, to maintain and optimize robotic systems into the manufacturing process.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including control specifications, programming guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and upgrades of robotic systems to ensure their reliability and safety.
  • Provide training and support to production operators and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of robotic systems.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers for the procurement of robotic equipment and spare parts.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and ensure compliance with industry standards during all phases of robot system integration and operation.
  • Basically, you'll ensure that the Body department meets its goals, achieving both high customer and high employee satisfaction.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong experience in designing, programming, and troubleshooting Fanuc robotic systems in an automotive manufacturing environment, particularly in the body shop area.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as FANUC KAREL, TP, or similar robotic programming languages.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong familiarity with principles of automotive body processes, optimization, launch of new products
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours and travel occasionally to support project requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and team-working tendencies
  • A genuine fascination for the automotive body field and a commitment to global change
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of PLC programming, HMI design, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet).
  • Familiarity with robotic vision systems, 3D simulation software, and offline programming tools.
  • A diverse skillset including ability to work under pressure, conflict management, multitasking, prioritizing.
  • Annual Salary Range:

    ($100K - $125K), plus benefits and incentive plans
