Work Arrangements
The MHPS department of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Douglas College is hiring for a contract faculty in the Health Care Assistant program to begin January 2024. The primary place of work will be Coquitlam Campus.

The Role
The Faculty of Health Sciences invites applications for contract position to teach in the Health Care Assistant Program.
Responsibilities
You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner‐centered instruction.

Qualification:
Current unrestricted (i.e., no conditions on license or provincial registration) full registration as a Registered nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives with undergraduate degree in Nursing or health related field, Master's degree preferred
Three or more years (1 year =1400 hours) of full-time Canadian nursing experience with relevant knowledge of the Canadian health Care system, the roles and responsibilities of healthcare team members and current policies and procedures within residential and community care settings. Nursing work experience to include:
Evidence of completion of course work in Indigenous cultural safety and humility.

Douglas College, founded in the year 1970, is one of the largest public degree-granting colleges located in British Columbia, Canada. Douglas College offers degree and university courses in science and arts, programs in healthcare, business, arts, and human services. The institute boasts of two campuses, the main one in New Westminster and the other is the David Liam Campus suburban campus in Coquitlam as well as several smaller training centres in Surrey, Burnaby and Maple Ridge.
The college provides both on-campus and off-campus housing options to the students. They have an extensive library with books and DVDs, articles, research help guides for the students. There is also a Douglas Open Repository, or DOOR, that is a collection of research and creative assets of the college.

The academic staff consists of around 960 members.
The college offers as many as 10 bachelor's degree programs in Applied Psychology Psychiatric Nursing, Physical Education and Coaching, Business Administration, Nursing, Therapeutic, Child and Youth Care, Recreation Performing Arts, Criminology and Social Work.
