Offer Description

The University of Bucharest is launching a competition to fill four Scientific Researcher (Recognised researcher) positions for the research project titled “Complex modelling of multiple land degradation processes in Europe. Towards an integrative scientific framework for sustainable land management across the continent”, CF 216/19.11.2022, Geography Faculty.

Employment conditions:

- doctoral degree in Geography;

- doctoral degree obtained no more than 5 years ago;

- young researcher with a maximum age of 35;

- proven research experience in the thematic area of land degradation – at least 1 ISI-listed article, published as main author (first author, corresponding author or author with equal rights to those of the first author / corresponding author) in red zone (Q1 category) / yellow zone (Q2 category), after impact factor;

- candidates must provide proof of conducting research and development activities in their field of expertise or in higher education for at least 2 years, or for at least 4 years in other activities ( in accordance with Law no. 319/2003 on the Statute of research and development personnel ).

Competition tests :

- written test;

- practical test;

- interview.

Topics: Land degradation in Europe and Romania: typology, impact, geospatial modelling.

Duties / Activities related to the position:

- theoretical research on the issue of land degradation in Europe / Romania (typology, impact, geospatial modelling);

- acquisition of geospatial data on land degradation in Europe / Romania;

- modelling geospatial data on land degradation in Europe / Romania, using Geographical Information Systems;

- interpretation of data used / results obtained on land degradation in Europe / Romania;

- contributing to the preparation of scientific papers.
