Commodity Robotics Lead

Description

As a Commodity Robotics Lead your responsibilities will be of a technical nature with decisions made within the limits of general practices, policies and standards. Your work will involve complex Robot manufacturing problems including the need to root cause and follow issues to resolve.

You will be responsible to forecast, order, design and integrate automatic processes related with Robots. You will be required to use your independent discernment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction for robotic and dispense systems to Suppliers

  • Assist the Supplier in developing their robot & dispense support capabilities

  • Ensure the Supplier's robot programming conforms to GM Standards

  • Participate in process review meetings to optimize the application of robotic technology

  • Assist in the specifying & ordering of robots & dispense systems

  • Assist in mechanical/electrical assembly and startup & debug of robots and peripheral equipment

  • Work seamlessly across projects to implement common solutions to robot related mfg issues

  • Communicate project status and results to management

  • Travel occasionally on a limited basis to support critical equipment startups

  • Additional Description

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science – Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience with GM Robotic Programming Standards (path segments, decision codes, styles, etc)

  • Experience with GM Bodyshop Processing standards

  • Experience executing a GM Bodyshop Program

  • Experience specifying & ordering Fanuc Robots for GM

  • Experience specifying & ordering SCA Schucker Dispense Equipment for GM

  • Experience in programming and troubleshooting robots and related equipment.

  • High level of project management skills

  • High level of interpersonal skills & problem solving skills

  • Self motivated with ability to initiate and apply innovative ideas and concepts

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Robot Simulation

  • Experience with SCA Schucker Dispense Systems

  • Experience with Fanuc Robotic - Vision Applications

  • Computer programming skills

  • Familiar with spot welding & flow drill screw processes
