This role is the strategic partner to the Product Line Engineering Director, working closely with other engineering leaders to manage team operations, to manage resource loading, project planning and other tasks as required to ensure the engineering operations are executed with clarity and efficiency. You'll have the authority to drive key program resource loading and prioritization to ensure the engineering organization is operating in alignment with the product line objectives and priorities. This role will be exceedingly influential and impactful on product line success.

Position Responsibilities

  • Be the key alternate POC for the Product Line Engineering Director, advising and able to be a stand-in during meetings - take key decisions and speak on behalf of the Engineering Organization.
  • Works to solve problems, mediate disputes, and deal with issues before they are escalated to the Product Line Engineering Director.
  • Researching, benchmarking, analyzing data, reviewing program staff loading, actuals charging, resource management and making recommendations.
  • Help cultivate a positive culture.
  • Drive Engineering rhythm of the business; Engineering Leadership, Management, to all engineers.
  • Includes communication cadence and mechanisms. E.g. Leadership Stand Ups, Staff, All Hands, QBR preparation, etc.
  • Facilitate creation of Engineering staff Goals, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Key Results (KR).
  • Ensure accountability mechanisms are in place with regards to achieving program milestones.
  • Managing headcount and resources distribution amongst the various Integrated Product Teams and Programs.
  • Ensuring the established labor and cost tracking mechanisms are used and data visualizations provided according to the defined cadence.
  • Assist in performance management with Human Resources.
  • Assist with Engineering compensation distribution and promotions.
  • Create systems and processes to streamline operations.
  • Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Master's degree or MBA
  • 5+ years of program management experience combined with some form of business process engineering.
  • 5+ years people management and coaching experience.
  • Experience with organizational change management and transformation.
  • Experience in an Agile and Waterfall development environment.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to develop and communicate a vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with the business strategy.
  • Ability to build strong relationships within all disciplines within organization.
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment in which resources may not be under your direct control.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills
  • Data visualization and presentation experience.

  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
  • Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.
  • The salary range for this role is:

    $162,360 - $243,540
