As a Buyer, Exteriors you will manage the Purchasing life cycle for production parts for vehicle projects for the Exterior commodities. This role requires exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. A successful candidate needs to thrive in a high-pressure environment using data and facts to help identify risks, manage resources, and solve problems quickly and effectively. A dedicated team ethic with the ability to interact at all levels and across business boundaries is required to be successful in this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Development of procurement strategy, establishment of purchasing budgets, plans, policies, systems, and procedures within the organization.
Building and developing supply chain organization to support vehicle projects and ongoing cost reduction activities.
Negotiate key contracts to optimize value.
Develop business intelligence based on continuous market analysis, monitoring, and forecasting against variable market conditions.
Negotiate contractual terms and interpret existing contract frameworks, demonstrating an understanding of legal principles.
Build internal relationships, assessing the capabilities of suppliers.
Create supplier scorecards to drive for continuous improvement and creation of best practice-based processes and procedures.
Program gateway delivery and reporting.
Ensure internal operations and supplier activities are conducted in an ethical, responsible manner, using ISO2600 / 20400 as a basis.
Product definition, attributes, and specification cascade for sourcing activities.
Program metrics generation, including timing, delivery status, cost status.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related subject. Equivalent experience may be considered.
5 to 7 years of experience in Automotive OEM strategic sourcing, procurement, or purchasing.
5 to 7 years of experience managing commercial business relationships with large suppliers in the Automotive industry.
3 to 5 years of recent experience with strategic sourcing of Automotive Exterior systems, including Fascia, Trim, Moldings, Exterior Lighting, etc.
Proven experience and knowledge of injection molding, stamping, extrusion, and assembly technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies
Deep knowledge of sourcing, procurement principles, procurement systems, and large company best practices.
Ability to make strategic sourcing recommendations and take appropriate action.
Ability to gather information, analyze data, and provide recommendations.
Ability to negotiate with vendors independently and identify cost saving opportunities.
Experience in the application of PPAP processes in the supplier base.
Experience with problem solving, including 8D and practical problem- solving capability.
Proficient in the application of vehicle Project Management strategies.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with Suppliers, Engineering Partners, and intraorganizational customers.
Fluent in spoken and written English, with exceptional communication skills.
Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Comfortable in a demanding environment, with the ability to effectively interface with cross functional teams and management.
Basic knowledge of ERP systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Expected Salary Range
$50,960.00 to $125,580.00 per year.
Salary is one part of total compensation, which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits.
An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.
The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity, as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.

Fisker Inc. is an American automotive company founded by Henrik Fisker and his wife Geeta Gupta-Fisker. Launched in 2016 and based in Southern California, Fisker Inc. is the successor to Fisker Automotive, which produced the Fisker Karma. Fisker Inc. is developing the Fisker Ocean, an electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) with an estimated range of 300–350 miles (480–560 km), with production expected to begin in late 2022.
