Responsibilities
The Department of Biophysics is seeking a qualified candidate for Assistant Professor (research track) to expand the core services offered through the Structural Biology Laboratory Core facility (SBL) and CryoEM Facility (CEMF) in cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET), to eventually include the entire pipeline from high pressure freezing to cryo-correlative light/electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) to cryo-focused ion beam milling (cryo-FIB) to cryo-ET. The successful candidate will participate in development of this pipeline, work with users to implement it and contribute to maintenance and management of the relevant instruments. We anticipate application of the workflow to systems including biochemical reconstitutions, cells and tissues, and scientific fields including biophysics, cell biology, immunology, cancer biology and neuroscience. The candidate will provide unique experimental capabilities for researchers at UTSW and participate broadly in our scientific mission.

Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
