Associate Lecturer (EMHP) & Wellbeing Practitioner for CWP

Job description

Faculty of Health and Life Sciences CEDAR Psychology

Do you have sound knowledge of CWP/EMHP working and low-intensity evidence- based practice for children, young people, and families? Are you a good communicator with an excellent person-centred approach? Would you like to help new trainees develop their theory and approach and support them along their journey to becoming qualified practitioners? Due to the continued implementation of the CWP and EMHP training programmes, we are looking for dedicated, organised, motivated and caring individuals with the relevant CYP low-intensity qualification and experience to become part of the Cedar clinical education team. If you have an interest in sharing and developing great low-intensity practice whilst supporting and advising aspiring practitioners through their training, then please apply.

We have two Associate Lecturer roles available from August 2024 within Cedar at the University of Exeter. The Associate Lecture role provides opportunity for individuals looking to begin their clinical academic career and we can offer flexible start dates over the coming term.

These roles are available on a full-time basis (part-time applications will also be considered at 0.8 FTE or above) from the 1st of August 2024. These roles will initially be on a fixed term contract to 31st December 2025, but we anticipate extending the post subject to expected funding.

About the role

This role is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to and shape the delivery of CWP and EMHP training so that it becomes as inclusive and effective as possible and help trainees to bridge theory into practice to become competent and confident practitioners. You'll be joining a team of passionate, hardworking, committed, friendly and supportive practitioners and educators whose aim is to provide the best and most effective training experience possible in conjunction with our NHS and community sector partners.

The job role entails delivery on the CWP and EMHP teaching and training both remotely and in-person. You will contribute to the continued development of training materials, help deliver training days and lectures, watch and feedback on role plays and contribute to marking clinical and associated assessments. You will also act as personal point of contact and liaison for trainees and their service supervisors to support trainees overcome any obstacles to their successful engagement and progress whilst on the programme.

There is every expectation that this will become a long-term role as funding continues, so we would particularly welcome applications from those interested in developing a longer-term career as a clinical educator within Cedar. For those looking for career progression, there has been an excellent track record of development opportunities to lecturer and beyond.
