Working as a Associated Electrical Engineer, you will be the authority/support person for various engineering projects in Automation & Electrification Solutions, Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN) in Houston, Texas, providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals. In this role, you will make technical recommendations in various phases of customer projects to ensure successful delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with quality and safety guidelines.

Your responsibilities
  • Assisting project managers and project lead engineers in technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Assisting contract managers with claims, customer specifications and safety standards
  • Creating and delivering the work plan and budget, as well as risk assessments relevant to your engineering discipline
  • Helping customers resolve technical issues both remotely and at customer sites up to 30% travel including domestic, international, and offshore travel
  • Maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project
  • Your background
  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required and 0 to 2 years of experience in electrical power distribution systems, working as an electrical engineer with low voltage and medium voltage equipment
  • Familiarity with modern programming languages (C/C++, Java, Python, etc.)
  • Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes, and tools, including AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Visio, etc
  • A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines
  • A high level of self motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies
  • A collaborative, solution focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
