    About the role

    The Associate Director, VE Quality & Compliance is responsible for providing guidance and direction to the College of Vocational Education (CoVE) community on all aspects of academic quality and regulatory compliance. As the Associate Director, you will be leading the Quality and Compliance and Quality Support teams to provide advice and expertise regarding quality and compliance matters to delivery teams.

    You are a high achieving leader who has influenced organisational change by building effective relationships with senior executive stakeholders. In this position, you are required to identify strategic risks and recommend mitigations. You will be leading the Quality teams to support delivery areas to provide compliance, high quality program delivery, develop internal and external quality and compliance procedures and provide expert advice to shape decisions.

    Furthermore, as the AD, you will be working closely with broader University services areas and external entities to ensure an appropriate response which is integrated with the Vocational Education planning, for activities across the University. You will be developing strategic responses to changes in compliance requirements and proactively managing quality assurance activities.

    The role will hold accountability for ensuring State Government requirements are met and all funding agreements are correct and being followed appropriately. You will utilise influence to inform and drive innovation within current and future regulatory frameworks. Managing budget, resourcing, business case review and approval, balancing priorities and projects is also an important part of this role.

    This role reports directly to the Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor Learning & Teaching, CoVE at RMIT.

    To be successful in this position you will ideally have:

  • A relevant qualification and extensive relevant management experience within the VET sector.
  • Proven experience in the leadership of a highly effective compliance function.
  • Proven experience in quality and compliance planning, delivery and reporting.
  • Experience in managing ASQA and TESQA requirements and state contract requirements in line with VE impact areas.
  • Experience in working with data and stakeholders to identify emerging and unmet needs and to develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Experience in encouraging a workplace culture of high performance and promoting accountability for outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated passion for delivering creative and impactful communications to staff.
