The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the position of

Assistant Professor or Assistant

at the Department of Constitutional Law and Political Science

covering for maternity and parental leave on a half-time work schedule.

The Faculty of Law at Masaryk University is one of four public law faculties in the Czech Republic. The current Faculty of Law at Masaryk University can be characterized as a modern, dynamic faculty, where teaching activities are at the forefront alongside scientific research. The Department of Constitutional Law and Political Science provides teaching in constitutional law, human rights, political science, state studies, and a range of elective and skills subjects; its members also contribute to independent and team scientific research.

What we require:

• Completed master's degree in Law,

• Ph.D. degree or advanced stage of doctoral studies (for the position of assistant),

• Interest in the field of constitutional law, human rights, political science, and/or political science,

• Positive attitude towards teaching and a friendly approach to students,

• Independence and enthusiasm for academic (research) work,

• Minimum of 1 publication in a foreign journal included in the Web of Science or Q1-Q2 Scopus,

• Documented active participation in significant international conferences,

• Active knowledge of the English language (additional language skills are an advantage),

• Openness, friendliness, empathy, reliability, and team spirit.

What we expect:

• An initiative approach to the development of the field and the life of the department,

• Experience in an international academic environment,

• Pedagogical practice or other relevant experience from academia or legal practice,

• Extensive publishing activity,

• Experience in formulating and obtaining grant projects within Czech (e.g., GAČR) and/or international frameworks (e.g., Marie Curie, ERC, Horizon) is an advantage,

• Interest in involvement in international cooperation (grants, conferences, projects).
