Offer DescriptionRECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position assistant professor in a group of research employees in the Department of Medical Informatics and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.
Job description: 1) the competition for the position of assistant professor is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended), 2) estimated work commencement date: 01.11.2023, 3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Medical Informatics and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, full-time employment contract, 4) period of employment: from 01.11.2023 to 30.09.2024 (with the possibility of extension).
Requirements: 1) doctoral degree in the field of engineering and technical sciences in the discipline of biomedical engineering or related, 2) at least a two-month abroad internship or at least 6 months national internship in a research, industrial or local government unit, 3) substantive participation in a research project financed by other than a subvention, 4) publications in international scientific journals, as well as documented achievements in the field of promotion and popularization of science,
Additional requirements: 1) having scientific achievements in the field of biomedical engineering, in particular signal processing firmed by publications and participation in projects, 2) programming skills in Matlab environment, 3) fluent knowledge of the English, both spoken and written, 4) a good command of the Polish language in speech and writing (applies to candidates for whom Polish is not the native language), 5) conscientiousness, scientific reliability, good organization of work both independently and in a team.
Required documents: 1) application for employment, 2) scan of the diploma, 3) professional curriculum vitae, 4) information on scientific, didactic and organizational achievements, 5) an individual development plan along with the schedule of its implementation during the employment period, 6) opinion of a researcher (professor) concerning the candidate, 7) certificate of completed internship, 8) declaration of active knowledge of the English language, 9) declaration of knowledge of the Polish language (for candidates for whom Polish is not the native language), 10) candidate's statement that the Silesian University of Technology will be his/her primary place of work.
