The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Translational Science for the Center for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenerative Diseases. As the Director of Translational Science, you will be responsible for leading a team of scientists and overseeing the development of innovative research programs focused on translating basic science discoveries into new therapies for neurodegenerative diseases. You will collaborate with other researchers at the Center and across the university to identify new drug targets and develop preclinical models to validate potential therapeutics. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing clinical trials for promising therapeutic candidates.
Key responsibilities:
Lead a team of scientists to develop and implement research programs aimed at translating basic science discoveries into novel therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
Qualifications:
Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
