Assistant Manager, Business Development Support


Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week at GM Global Technical Center - Cadillac Tower in Warren, MI.

The selected candidate must reside or relocate within 50 miles of Warren, Michigan. Relocation may be provided.

The Assistant Manager, BDC Support will be focused on working closely with GM's brand teams, dealerships, and other stakeholders to develop training and coaching materials and ensure GM has the right mix technology and service partners to support dealership and brand business development objectives.


  • Utilize available dealership sales and lead effectiveness analytics and industry intelligence to identify opportunities to improve Business Development and Equity mining effectiveness, resulting in improved sales and customer experience.
  • Maintain relationships with the brand field teams and central office sales teams to identify training and coaching opportunities. Understand goals and needs to be used as input for training activity.
  • Maintain communication calendar to manage the creation and delivery of BDC and EQM training and coaching content resulting in coordinated training and communication.
  • Create content for monthly newsletter, job aid, and other guides for brand field teams and dealerships.
  • Identify topics and SME's to support monthly dealership and field BDC/EQM effectiveness webinar.
  • Collaborate with Center of Learning on developing web-based training, videos, and other training content.
  • Present BDC and EQM effectiveness information to brand field teams on a regular
  • Coordinate onsite training for dealers and field teams as needed.
  • Collaboration with agency resources as needed on content creation.
  • Work with the Lead Management and Performance team to identify lead handling trends.
  • Maintain relationships with the iMR BDC and EQM suppliers. Support the process to optimize the supplier mix.
  • Maintain the BDC app on GlobalConnect. Manage content to ensure it is relevant and timely.
  • Other support as needed.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's degree is preferred
  • Prior work experience working directly with automotive dealerships or automotive field organizations supporting dealership sales operations is required
  • Prefer experience with automotive digital marketing and sales processes or technologies, including DMS, CRM or retail platform systems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with ability to collaborate or lead cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to present to facilitate webinars and presentations to dealership and corporate audiences
  • Ability to think strategically and identify deliverables needed to support departmental and other stakeholder objectives
  • Prior experience with video production or podcasting is desirable
  • Prior experience working directly with automotive CRM in a dealership sales or BDC environment is desirable
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time to facilitate field training
