You will drive the sales performance in Motion Large Motors & Generators in Houston, Texas, participating in sales strategy discussions, assigning goals and negotiating sales budgets and marketing plans. In this role, you will be participating in defining and implementing sales and marketing strategies for the assigned segment(s) and customers to achieve ABB's market penetration and growth aspirations. Proactively lead, coach and develop our sales teams. Work with the MOLM targeted customers to achieve both quantitative and qualitive targets in a profitable manner, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities
  • Build relationships with key external influencers, at senior levels, to educate, inform and solicit support for MOLM (Motion Large Motor & Generator) products.
  • Strategic alignment - interpret the global industry segment strategy to meet Region/Country requirements and implements with country specific action plans.
  • Identify strategic (Industry Drivers Tier 1) accounts and work with agreed targets to initiate “spec & influence”, in turn building a strong base for growth within targeted Industry Segments. Help to develop detailed business/sales plans in place with clear ownership and action plans for each targeted account.
  • Participate in market analysis, active operation intelligence, benchmarking and analysis in order to identify best processes, equipment, automation practices, etc.
  • Account Management ensure that the major accounts in the segment(s) are identified and prioritized. May act as Account Manager for one or more major accounts in the Region/Country
  • Contract and negotiation ensure the team is well prepared and has the necessary internal support to pursue and manage large project contracts. Help negotiate complex legal and commercial international frame agreements.
  • Reporting through the use of standard reporting tools to accurately identify future opportunities and measure progress by segment.
  • Your background
  • High School Diploma / GED with minimum 16 years experience OR Associate's Degree with minimum 14 years experience OR Bachelor's Degree with minimum 12 years experience OR Master's Degree with minimum 10 years experience.
  • Sales experience with Large Machines, Generators or Rotating Apparatus preferably in Oil & Gas, Mining, Paper or Power.
  • Must have SalesForce CRM experience.
  • Must be willing to travel a minimum of 60% of your time.
  • Comfortable in dealing with technical and commercial decision makers and senior management.
  • Ability to manage and work with virtual teams.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
