Application Services is responsible for providing the ongoing business as Usual management and support activities associated with applications, platforms and technologies managed by MQ IT.

The Applications Specialist (Student) will be responsible for:

  • Incident management, resolution and post-incident analysis of major incidents.
  • Translating business needs into solution design using most suitable AMIS functionality.
  • Continuous improvement of processes, systems performance, working methods, and tools.
  • Following the change control process to implement changes, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Ensuring the latest release of AMIS is implemented in a timely manner with minimal or no disruption to operations.
  • Vendor management and communication for escalation of critical issues.
  • Producing reports based on defined measures, metrics, and key performance indicators.
  • Creating and maintaining operation documentation.
  • About You

    You are an experienced IT professional, having been a subject matter expert in a relevant business domain, application platform or technology stack. You will have knowledge of IT service management concepts and experience with their applications in an enterprise work environment supporting both cloud and hybrid on-premises application configurations.

    You will be an effective communicator, with good verbal and written skills with clients and other business stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience as a subject matter expert in student administration support functions, processes and procedures, particularly in relation into their application support requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following application development and support capabilities including requirements analysis, design, build and configuration, test, change management and training, release management, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance.
  • Experience in incident response, resolution and post incident analysis of major incidents.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyse and interpret requirements and information from numerous sources.
  • Proven experience in documenting operational support procedures.
  • This position requires a criminal record check.
