Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship at Curtin

The Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship team at Curtin works with students, researchers, alumni, investors, and industry partners to inspire, start and scale entrepreneurial pursuits. Curtin has a successful track record in startup and scale up of technology based businesses. For 10+ years, it has provided training, expertise, infrastructure and direct seed investment to such businesses.

The entrepreneurship team seeks to develop a culture of entrepreneurship at Curtin, deliver entrepreneurship and commercialisation training, stimulate business startup and facilitate scale up of ventures.

Your new role

You will provide administrative, operational and event support to both the Trailblazer and Entrepreneurship Programs. You will be responsible for the coordination and support for events and other initiatives relating to both programs.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the Director, Trailblazer and Director, Entrepreneurship as required.
  • Efficiently scheduling appointments and meetings.
  • Preparing documents, reports and presentations.
  • Assist with event planning and coordination, e.g. order catering, venue booking and travel.
  • Booking conferences, travel and accommodation as required.
  • Administration and event support for the Entrepreneurship Community.
  • Maintain webpage.
  • Other duties as required.
  • We are looking for someone with:

  • Formal qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.
  • Innovative mindset with ability to think outside of the box.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination (Highly desirable).
  • You will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
