Campus Location Duluth, On-line Job Title Accounting Technican-Remote/Hybrid Job Group Staff Job Summary

Responsible for performing technical level accounting work related to the maintenance of financial records, including timely and accurate review of transaction activity, process and policy adherence, month-end close, preparation of journal vouchers, reconciliations and supporting workpapers.

Assist with financial audits to ensure accurate financial statements and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles; organizes and analyzes audit schedules and records for accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.Perform technical, specialized, and complex financial support work.Ensure compliance with institutional procedures and policies and all regulated laws.Assist the Finance department with processing activities as needed and provide support as required.Perform financial research and analysis projects as directed and compose reports and recommendations as requested.Perform independent research and analysis to resolve issues.Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.

Required Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of college-level coursework in accounting or a related field; AND three (3) years of accounting support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Understand concepts for reviewing financial documentation and transactions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with policy.
  • Organize own work, multi-task, identify priority needs, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to take leadership roles on projects, demonstrate initiative, and be an adept problem solver.
  • Experience working independently
  • Interact successfully with diverse individuals from various backgrounds and cultures.
