Description

Installs, inspects, maintains and repairs electronic locking systems and automatic doors.

  • Installs, repairs and makes modifications on a variety of access control board card readers, electric locks and other supportive devices.
  • Maintains electronic locking systems, including electric strikes, electric hinges, and their sub-systems.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and replaces motors and gearboxes.
  • Maintains manual and automated records of locking systems, including card keys, cores, lock locations, authorizations, and inventory. Keeps accurate records of labor costs and prepares required reports.
  • Procures and maintains parts and materials for work activities.
  • Surveys systems and recommends keying and sub-keying systems.
  • May perform the duties of a journeyman locksmith as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    High school and 3 years experience

    Education: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Experience: Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
