About the position
The School of Education has a long and distinctive history of progressive and socially engaged teaching and research in education. The School provides for the professional preparation of teachers and educators in early childhood, primary, secondary, community, outdoor and higher education. The School of Education is a core priority for the University and it has adopted an ambitious strategic plan that is intended to reinvigorate the School's research and coursework portfolio and partnership collaborations with stakeholder groups and industry.
The Academic Support Officer works in collaboration with the Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching, course and subject coordinators within the School to implement the School's operational teaching and learning workflows. The Academic Support Officer provides support for the school to deliver annual Learning & Teaching objectives, the role does not replicate work expected of academic staff as outlined in academic positions descriptions.
The position sits within the School's Professional Services team but does not provide general administrative support to academic staff unless directed by the Administration Coordinator. The objective of the position is to ensure that students have an exceptional learning experience by supporting teaching administrative activities.
