Job Summary

The Sanders-Brown Center on Aging (SBCoA) and the Division of Internal Medicine at University of Kentucky (UK) in Lexington KY are seeking a full- time academic Geriatrician for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and have demonstrated clinical and research skills. This academic appointment offers an opportunity to provide clinical care in a cooperative and collegial team environment at UK Healthcare while also participating in clinical research activities in the SBCoA and its long-standing NIA-funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC). The position will have 50% protected time for pursuit of collaborative clinical research activities that include numerous clinical trials for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and observational studies in longitudinal cohorts such as the ADRC and MarkVCID. Clinical service will focus on the clinical care of older adults in the ambulatory care setting. The successful candidate will have demonstrated commitment to interprofessional practice, cultural competence, quality improvement with a proven ability to provide high quality primary, specialty, and consultative care. Candidate must use a person-centered approach that embraces an understanding of personal goals, equity, inclusion, and holistic care.

This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ( CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022.
