The University seeks to appoint a professor of philosophy & bioethics to the Department of Public Health to commence as soon as possible.
The position belongs to the Section of Health Services Research which covers general areas of health services research carried out by an interdisciplinary research group. The section's research includes science and technology studies, bioethics, migrant health, socio-technical studies of digital health, health policy analysis, and the use of effect of health services and interventions.

Job description
When considering applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area.
For this professorship, we are looking for a senior philosopher with research and teaching expertise within bioethics, medical ethics, and the ethics and philosophy of medical technologies. The candidate should have an extensive publication profile within these areas and be a committed teacher with a long experience of both the classroom and also course leaderships across different study programs (e.g. medicine, public health, global health, health informatics). The ideal candidate will not only have an excellent track- record of publications and teaching but also the demonstrated ability to attract external funding, both within dedicated philosophical projects and within interdisciplinary collaborative contexts.
The professor will be expected to collaborate with fellow researchers at the department to integrate and strengthen ethical and philosophical perspectives within health services research and public health.

Terms of employment
The position is permanent and the average weekly working hours are 37.
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.

Application procedure
After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee.
