Job DescriptionNARRATIVE DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Student Life monitors and directs aspects of Student Life at the College and reports directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. The Director of Student Life has responsibility for student services at the Clarendon Campus and works to respond to student needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Formulates and recommends procedures on matters relating to functions supervised.
Has direct responsibility for the following student services:
Housing
Campus security
Discipline, reporting and tracking.
Student organizations
Student life
Student activities
Assist in recruiting and retention of students.
Participates in the preparation and recommendation of budgets for responsible areas. Establishes and maintains budgetary control of areas of responsibility.
Assist with preparation of and participates in commencement ceremonies.
Develops and implements procedures for providing information to the Vice President of Academic Affairs to keep him/her informed of all aspects of the areas of responsibility.
Serve as a liaison between the cafeteria provider and the College.
Serve and participate on institutional standing and/or ad hoc committees, as assigned.
Support college activities and special events through attendance and/or participation.
Comply with all College policies, rules, and regulations.
Remain current through a program of professional development.
Communicate an accurate image of the College to the public. Be a positive and active representative of Clarendon College. Be available to address impromptu situations involving the College during non-traditional work hours.
Reside in College housing.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs and/or the President.
